With over 20 years of experience in psychological medicine and serving as an expert witness since 2012, Dr Bashforth provides independent, evidence-based opinions for the civil courts. Her work focuses on high-value clinical negligence and personal injury cases, with a 50:50 claimant and defendant split.

Dr Bashforth takes a forensic approach, ensuring the triangulation of objective and subjective sources of evidence to deliver robust, balanced, and comprehensive evaluations. She has provided evidence in complex legal cases, including in the High Court, and has extensive experience in conferences with Counsel and joint statement preparation. Dr Bashforth has skill in the application of the biopsychosocial model within legal frameworks.
